Sleep Pods and Rest Zones at Chengdu Tianfu Airport
Chengdu Tianfu International Airport is one of the Chinese hubs where “sleep pods” means a real cabin you can book, and where the airport also publishes free rest zones. It is worth keeping those two offers separate.
What Tianfu has
Take A Nap Hotel (小憩酒店 / 眯一会) is landside in Terminal 2, about 100 metres left of arrivals exit B2 on the L2 arrivals floor. Cabins are private upper or lower sleeping pods with bedding, air conditioning, USB charging and luggage space. The property is listed as open 24 hours; some card programmes only cover 08:00 to 22:00 for up to three hours, with extra time paid to the hotel. Capacity is limited.
Free rest zones are in Terminal 2: lounge chairs landside on both sides of the L2 arrivals hall, and airside near gates 216 and 232 with charging seats. Nearby vending, water, toilets, a nursing room and a clinic are part of the same published overnight setup. From 19:00 to 01:30, airside overnight passengers can collect complimentary earplugs, a compressed towel and a toothbrush kit, and borrow a blanket and charging cable, at the L2 central enquiry desk with a boarding pass.
A 24-hour transit lounge near Terminal 1 Gate 115 has been reported for eligible international connections within 48 hours, with rest beds and showers. Confirm on the day; access is not a general landside nap.
What Tianfu does not have
No free enclosed pods. No guarantee of a quiet, dark room in the rest zones. Terminal 1 does not publish the same landside chair layout as Terminal 2 in the overnight notices cited here.
The alternatives, ranked
A proper room a walk away. Tianfu Joyhub Cheer Hotel and Tianfu Joyhub Air Hotel between the terminals.
A lounge chair. Fine for two to four hours; see showers and lounges if you also need a wash.
A shuttle hotel. Only if Take A Nap and Joyhub are full, because you add a road transfer: Holiday Inn Express Chengdu Tianfu Airport Zone.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Chengdu Tianfu Airport have sleep pods?
Yes. Take A Nap Hotel rents private sleeping cabins inside Terminal 2, landside near arrivals exit B2. They are enclosed capsules with a bed and air conditioning, not free recliner pods. Some lounge-card programmes include a short daytime stay.
Are there free rest zones at Tianfu Airport?
Yes, in Terminal 2. Landside lounge chairs are on both sides of the L2 arrivals hall. Airside rest areas are near gates 216 and 232. Overnight passengers can collect toiletries at the T2 airside L2 central enquiry desk from 19:00 to 01:30 with a boarding pass.
What if Take A Nap is full?
Walk to Tianfu Joyhub Cheer Hotel or Tianfu Joyhub Air Hotel between the terminals. For a chair only, use the published rest zones. Do not assume Terminal 1 has the same landside rest layout as Terminal 2.
